Bring your laptop to this guided hands-on workshop and discover how to optimize your website for improved Google rankings. Sit down with website designer, Jennie DeBusk as she walks you through the most essential elements for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and work in time to improve your website.
You will gain an in depth analysis of your current website and discover ways to grow your audience and improve conversions. Get a deeper understanding of SEO and implement keyword strategy to start seeing higher Google rankings. We will address meta data, on page content, niche keyword strategy, sitemaps, general Google algorithms and your Google My Business account. We will also cover blogging and funnel techniques to help you build your mailing lists and help increase customer interaction. The course will include 3 hours of instruction with hands on learning activities, with an extended hour for 1-on-1 consultations and questions.
To get the full value of the workshop:
- Have your login & password to the back end of your website ready to go.
- Your website should be mobile friendly, (ie it looks good on a phone).
- Have basic knowledge for how to update text and images.
- Google Analytics installed to track your progress. Don’t worry if you don’t have this, I’ll send you an email about how to get it installed.

Why do I need a Web Site and how do I make it happen?
Do you need some guidance about how to build or improve your website? Have you ever wondered the difference between WordPress, Wix and Squarespace? Which domain name is right for your business? Do you need to hire a designer, your nephew or are you up to the challenge?
In this workshop we will go over the basics of websites so you can build your own and know how to better communicate your website needs. We will go over registrar’s and security, hosting and platforms, essential page content, essential user experience design elements, terminology and basic search engine optimization. We will also go over blogging and have a special feature by Swat Social about how your website and social media feeds work together.
This workshop is designed for beginner to intermediate and does not actually include any HTML code, don’t worry. 2 hours guided instruction with 1 hour for Q&A.
